Today, March 11, 2010, Chile was struck by a 7.2 magnitude of earthquake aftershock about 90 miles (145 kilometers) southwest of Santiago in Libertador O’Higgins followed by a tsunami warning which was lifted later on. This incident caused copper prices to additional increase by 0.8 percent. Copper is the world’s largest source of metal and Coldelco, Chile is its largest producer.
